This comprehensive program, based on American Red Cross curriculum, is tailored for youth aged 11-16, providing them with the essential skills and confidence to safely and responsibly care for infants and children. Beyond basic childcare techniques, the program integrates critical leadership development components, preparing participants not just to be competent babysitters but also responsible young leaders. The curriculum emphasizes safety, emergency preparedness, and effective communication, fostering a sense of maturity and professionalism. Target Audience: Girl Scouts, Scouts BSA, aspiring teen workforce participants, youth leadership groups, and any young individual interested in developing childcare skills and leadership qualities. Curriculum/Content: Childcare safety, basic infant and child care, understanding child behavior, age-appropriate activities, emergency response planning, pediatric first aid, pediatric CPR, pediatric AED, leadership development, communication skills, and safe babysitting practices. Supports requirements for First Aid badges for scout participants. Delivery Format: Primarily in-person, interactive workshops, often delivered at schools, community centers, or scout troop locations. Duration: Typically 6-8 hours, often split into multiple sessions.
